thank you to my husband for loving me more and more every day.  thank you for supporting me through my dreams and help make them a reality. thank you for putting up with me on the days i know that i am complicated and putting up a fight.  thank you for teaching patience to an impatient person.  thank you for showing me how to open up to people and accept their love and support. but most of all, thank you for loving me for me and not trying to change who i am! i love you with all of my heart and i cherish every moment i get with you.
A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.  ~Mignon McLaughlin
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails ...1 Corinthians 13:4–8a

weekend

i was really looking forward to last weekend because it was jam packed, and i even took monday off of work to have an extra day-o-fun! saturday andrew didn't go into work, which was an added bonus so we were able to putz around the house, and clean clean clean since it was a disaster.  that evening was pam and brock's engagement party so we ventured on up to berthoud to spend time with the sawusch family and celebrate the future bride and groom!

we played kubb
sunday the whole fam was to head up to estes park for some late breakfast and then from there drive to blackhawk where we would stay for the night to celebrate andrew and i's one year anniversary and pam's 21st birthday!

plans changed a little as andrew, pam and cindy all woke up with food poisoning.  i hung around with the sick folks until later in the afternoon so we could go up the fast way to blackhawk and make any stops if needed.

pam, jenny and i spent most of the evening in the spa at the ameristar getting pampered, like girls should!  it was a good time.
then we went to dinner and gambled til the wee hours of the morning.  let's just say i will not be playing slot machines anytime soon (or maybe ever).  monday was spent in the casinos again, and nobody had any real luck! but husband spent most of his time at the blackjack tables and walked away with about $200 (i think).

overall the weekend ended up being fun and it was nice having everyone in town and spending time together!

mother's day brunch!

i'm getting really into cooking/baking! in fact my recipe repertoire has grown exponentially since a) buying our first home and b) getting married! so when the opportunity arises to host an event at my house, i'm so down!

since andrew and i were out of town over mother's day, it seemed only right to not let the holiday just go by and not celebrate, so we decided it would be fun to host a mother's day brunch in honor of our moms.

i gathered several brunch ideas into one and came up with a wonderful spread!  i wanted to make this special and lovely and have the moms feel like they were at  a fancy restaurant, but homier!

here's the menu:

spinach/ricotta fritatta
challah bread french toast (to die for, we drove all over in search of challah bread, wholefoods carries it)
fancy fruit salad
raspberry lime rickey

everything turned out great! everyone had a great time! and everyone was full and satisfied!

pura vida take 7

traveling to costa rica has turned into an almost yearly event for me! i don't know how i do it, but i make it work!  this year it was a must that husband come with since he's had to hear me talk about this wonderful country for three years now.  between a free room and a paid for ticket with miles earned, the trip actually ended up being affordable for two people.

we had a blast! we met up with sarah, sessa, and sarah's bf dave for a week of r&r and not to mention adventure. booze cruise, zip-lining in monteverde, beach, pool and fancy meals were among the many things we tackled.

pics to come soon!

recap 2010

i landed a great job at university of colorado denver.
planned for the biggest day of my life. though stressful, i wish i could do it all over again. who knows maybe a reconfirmation of our vows are in order and we'll do a mini destination wedding in san fran like i'd originally planned.
traveled to the beautiful dominican republic for a wonderful 10 day long honeymoon, that was so relaxing and well deserved after a year's worth of planning. andrew and i had a wonderful time although he was sick for most of it due to him drinking the water (he claims). but nonetheless he was quite the trooper, even though i was a little bummed. (This was our resort)

traveled to chicago for a quick weekend getaway for our illinois wedding reception planned by grandma kutzler so we could celebrate with friends and family in the chicagoland area. it was a good time had by all!
traveled to san francisco for a one day tour of the city and shopping extravaganza, oh and to celebrate my mama's birthday! traveling to and from a city in one day is exhausting, but an adventure none the less.
i have really taken interest in the decorating of our home, and we've done so much this year.  the house is really starting to feel cozy and to our liking. can't wait for our big projects to be done!
celebrated halloween with 6 of my amazing friends. we were the seven dwarfs, and boy were we cute!
